Bobby Yu Shuk Pui (works in Hong Kong and Oslo) views the contemporary body through several prisms, especially through different cultural contexts and the construction of identity. Her practice is focused on building intimate relationships and collaborations, where physical, tangible, and affective phenomena associated with biotechnology and the future are created using video, text, installation, sculpture, and performance.
Her recent video Genetic Salon—Waiting Room has been exhibited in Hong Kong, Prague, and Oslo, and was selected in the AMIFF arctic moving image festival. Her five-year research project Genetic Salon is funded by the Norwegian Art Council (Kultrrådet), Oslo Kommune, Norske Billedkunstneres (NBK), and FKDS Studio. She received an MFA in Oslo National Academy in Fine Arts in 2021.
